Yamaha continues to increase sales in India

Motorcycle market in India is still dominated by Hero-Honda, Bajaj and TVS. However, slowly but surely, Yamaha continues to show increased sales. In fact, last December the market increased to 68.71 per cent to 34,839 units over the same period lasts year recorded 20,529 units. Of the total, local market absorbed 26,567 units or 95.17 percent raced 13 612 units compared to last year. Export sector also rose 19.59 percent to 8272 units from 6917 units. With this achievement, total company sales rose 30.75 percent or 350,264 units from position 2009 only 267,895 units. For domestic sales, 2010, totaled 258,987 units, up 18.46 percent from last year’s 218,625 units. While export 85.26 percent to 91,277 units from 49,270 units (year on year). “We are very pleased to achieve this year, and could reinforce brand image and enlarge market products in the hearts of Indian consumers,” commented Hiroyuki Suzuki, Chief Executive Officer whiles Yamaha Motor India Managing Director. Next year, the company hopes to continue to increase sales, one of its tactics by marketing some excellent models.
