Volvo is showcasing one of its greenest models at this year’s GreenFleet Scotland. It’s a super eco version of the V40, with 94g/km CO2 figure and lowest BIK rating. And that makes it hugely popular with fleet users who really like to dodge taxes somehow.

The car also boasts other great features that just make it a plain god choice for urban use. The V40 incorporates Volvo’s pioneering low-speed collision avoidance system, City Safety, the world’s first pedestrian airbag, and Bluetooth handsfree telephone as standard on all specifications.

Visitors to the Volvo stand will be able to enjoy a leisurely look at the all-new V40 with two models on static display as well as having the opportunity to drive four models, including the V40 D2 SE. The V40 will be joined by the established S60 and V60 D2 SE versions with respective CO2 emissions of 114g/km and 119g/km.

Volvo press release:

Volvo will be showcasing some of its most environmentally friendly models at this year’s GreenFleet Scotland in Edinburgh, including the 94g/km all-new V40.

Now in its fourth year, GreenFleet Scotland, which takes place at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, on 16thSeptember, provides visitors with the opportunity to browse and drive the latest green models on the market.

With the V40′s unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the model’s UK debut in July and UK deliveries in September, the model is likely to be in huge demand at the show.

This year’s event includes four seminar sessions under the overall theme of “2020 Vision – Where Green Becomes Clear” which reflects Volvo’s own philosophy as it gears up for the launch of the world’s first plug-in diesel hybrid, the Volvo V60 D6 AWD, which arrives in early 2013, with its CO2 emissions of just 49g/km.

At sub 95g/km, Volvo’s all-new V40 will be in the lowest Benefit-in-Kind tax bracket of 13 per cent for this tax year and next, as well as enjoying zero vehicle excise duty. For fleets next April, when the write down allowance for offsetting 100 per cent against taxable profits in the first year reduces from 110g/km to 95g/km, the V40 is among those vehicles which remain in contention.

With much of its design, specification and technology developed with the company motorist in mind, the premium hatchback has received a warm welcome from the fleet industry with leasing companies and future value guides predicting extremely positive residual values.

The S60 and V60 SE models also incorporate a host of must-have features for the business user including integrated satellite navigation system; high performance multimedia audio system; Bluetooth; and rear park assist, as well as a suite of safety technology which also includes City Safety. Both models benefit from attractive BIK 2012/13 categories of 16% for the S60 and 17% for the V60
