The BMW 335 2011 Model
The General Overview of the Vehicle;
The new 335 model from BMW is available in the choice of either 328 and turbocharged gasoline or diesel variations. There are also 3 choices of body styles to select from, these include a convertible with retractable hardtop, sedan and coupe models. The new 335 has to compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Infiniti G.
What is New for 2011;
New for 2011 is the inclusion of a new dual clutch 7 speed automated manual transmission and the creation of a more powerful twin-turbo engine for the new sportier versions of the 335is convertible and coupe models, with remodeled styling for the front and rears fascia also altered for these models. The 335i also received an upgraded engine and now is integrated with a single turbocharger.
The Exterior of the BMW 335;
There has been a multitude of alterations made to the exterior appearance of the convertible and coupe versions. They have both received remodeled front and rear fascias, side skirts and also a new hood. 17 inch alloy wheels and adaptive xenon headlights come as standard while optional extras include 18 or 19 inch wheels (from the Sport Package), automatic high beams and Active Steering system with integrated speed-sensitive assist.
The Interior of the BMW 335;
The interior of the convertible and coupe versions can only accommodate 4 people while the sedan has enough to seat 5 people. The interior is incorporated with automatic climate control, push button ignition and HD radio as standard. Optional extras include and improved and upgraded navigational system with iDrive, satellite radio from Sirius, parking assist monitors integrated at the front and rear, and Dynamic Cruise Control which assists in maintaining a speed which has been preset.
Power Features of the BMW 335;
The new BMW 335i model is incorporated with a brand new single-turbo, 3.0 liter gasoline powered engine that produces 300 horsepower with 300 lb-ft of torque. The 335is model has a slightly more powerful twin-turbo, 3.0 liter gasoline powered engine outputting 320 horsepower with 332 lb-ft of torque. Although the power ratings for the 335i model remains unchanged it has been stated that it runs much more efficiently. On all models the 6 speed manual transmission comes as standard while a 6 speed automatic transmission is optional for the 335i model, and a dual clutch 7 speed automated manual transmission is an optional extra for the 335is model. All wheel drive is available for all versions but as an optional extra.
Safety Features of the BMW 335;
The 335 models are treated to anti-lock brakes, an electronic stability system, active head restraints for the front, side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. It has to be noted that the convertible models are not incorporated with side curtain airbags unlike the sedan and coupe models, although the convertible does receive a side airbag head extension in its place.
The BMW 335d Model;
The new 335d model is only available as a sedan with integrated automatic transmission. The newer versions of the 335d hasn’t received any drastic alterations although it has received some new features with its option packages.
One of the best new features available for the new 335d is the “M Sport Package”, this package includes upgraded sport seats, sport steering wheel and sport suspension to name a few. The new 335d is incorporated with a diesel powered engine that produces 265 horsepower with 425 lb-ft of torque, and a standard 6 speed automatic transmission. Some standard safety features include anti-lock brakes, electronic stability system, active front head restraints, side impact and side curtain airbags.
