The BMW 135i 2011 Model

The General Overview of the Vehicle;
Debuted in the North American market back in 2008 in both coupe and convertible forms was the 1 Series from BMW. The new 135i is equipped with rear drive and a powerful 3.0 liter inline 6 cylinder turbocharged engine outputting an impressive 300 horsepower. The 135i rivals are the likes of the Audi TT and the Nissan 370Z.
What is New for 2011;
Whilst the 3.0 liter turbocharged engine is brand new for the 2011 model of the 135i, it’s not the only new feature to be incorporated in this model. The old 6 speed automatic transmission has been replaced with a new and optional dual clutch 7 speed automated-manual transmission. There are further additional features available within the option packages from BMW.
The Exterior of the BMW 135i;
The new 135i model has received a minor update of the grille which is not more upright and a less stylish C-pillar, especially when compared to its brother the 3 Series. Available as standard on this vehicle are features such as 18 inch wheels for the coupe version; optional on the convertible, wipers that sense moisture, the windshield washer jets and the side mirrors are now heated. Optional extras include the adaptive xenon headlights and high beam headlights that are automatic. The convertible also features a soft top that can complete its function within 22 seconds.
The Interior of the BMW 135i;
The new BMW 135i model can accommodate up to 4 people. The interior has incorporated HD radio and a connection port for iPod as standard. The coupe benefits from the rear seat being able to be folded down increasing the trunk capacity, while in the convertible it boasts leather seats that are integrated with Sun Reflective Technology, this allows the seats to remain cooler even when exposed to direct sunlight. The navigation system which is integrated with the iDrive system from BMW is an optional extra available.
Power Features of the BMW 135i;
The new 135i is equipped with a 3.0 liter inline 6 cylinder turbocharged engine which outputs 300 horsepower with 300 lb-ft of torque, this is the same power ratings as the previous model with the exception that the new 135i only utilizes 1 turbocharger; it has to be noted that BMW has stated that this brand new engine is much more efficient than that of the previous model. This vehicle is incorporated rear drive and also with a choice of 2 transmissions, either the new dual clutch 7 speed automated-manual or the older 6 speed manual transmission Optional extras are the Active Steering system, this enables the vehicle to adjust how far you have to steer the wheel, and paddle shifters for use with automatic transmissions.
Safety Features of the BMW 135i;
There are a number of standard safety features incorporated within the new BMW 135i, these are front seat side impact airbags, side curtain airbags, stability system, and anti-lock brakes. It has to noted that the convertible isn’t equipped with side curtain airbags, it does however, retain the side impact airbags.
