The General Overview of the Vehicle;

The original Q5 model was introduced back in 2009, it was designed as a 5 seater, luxury compact SUV. It has to compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLK, the BMW X3, the Volvo XC60, the Infiniti EX35 and the Acura RDX.

What is New for 2011;

The Q5 now receives Quattro all wheel drive technology. The 2.0T version boasts a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine with a Tiptronic 8 speed automatic transmission, while the 3.2 version is incorporated with a V6 3.2 liter engine and Tiptronic 6 speed automatic transmission.

The Exterior of the Audi Q5;

Not surprisingly the Q5 does share some family resemblance to its bigger brother the Q7. Optional adaptive headlights are available, but equipped as standard are heated mirrors and roof rack, LED tail lights and an aluminum trim. The 3.2 variation is now incorporated with 19 inch alloy wheels and the exterior trim from the S line version.

The Interior of the Audi Q5;

The Q5 interior is designed with the kind of luxury you normally associate with Audi. The 5 seats on the Audi Q5 is available in either sports seats or heated seats fashion, these are optional extras as is the power lift-gate and the interior inlays which are made of ash wood. The Q5 comes integrated with Audi’s third generation MMI (Multi Media Interface), this can be incorporated with an optional navigation system which is able to offer traffic information in real time, the MMI also comes with HD radio. The sound system from Bang & Olufsen is available, but incorporated as standard is a CD player. Other interior features worth noting are the door unlock and engine start without a key, cruise control and cup-holders that can be set to keep your drinks warm or cool.

The Power Features of the Audi Q5;

The Audi Q5 comes with Quattro all wheel drive as standard, the Q5 also gets 2 choices of engine to select from; the V6 3.2 liter direct injection engine which outputs 270 horsepower or the brand new version for 2011 which is the 4 cylinder turbocharged 2.0 liter engine running at 211 horsepower. This vehicle has the option of either a Tiptronic 6 or 8 speed automatic transmission.

The Safety Features of the Audi Q5;

A new safety incorporated within the Q5 is something called the “Braking Guard”. This basically monitors the space in front of the vehicle by utilizing the radar from the cruise control system. This warns the driver of the vehicle by a sound if the vehicle happens to be too close to an object or car. Side impact airbags, side curtain airbags available for both seating rows and a stability system are all safety features which come as standard on this vehicle with the rear side impact airbags being optional.
