The Audi A8 2011 Model

The General Overview of the Vehicle; Receiving a complete overhaul is the flagship sedan model from Audi; the A8 2011 model. The Exterior of the Audi A8; The dimensions of the new Audi A8 are slightly larger than the 2010 model; it’s been extended by 3 inches for the length and 2 inches for the width of the vehicle. The overall appearance of the new vehicle isn’t exactly a major change from the previous model, although the new 2011 model does adorn some rather beautiful LED daytime runnings lights, Audi allows for the option of having all lights as LED such as the indicators, low beams and high beams. Audi has stated that the navigation system displays all of the information regarding the vehicle’s lights, and a smart little feature is that the indicators can be activated in anticipation of the turnings. The Interior of the Audi A8; The 5 seat Audi A8 has received a modernization of the interior, being kitted out with numerous high tech features compared to the previous model. Adopting a new shift by wire handle is the automatic transmission on the A8, this is somewhat similar to what BMW utilized in the redesign of its 7 Series model. Audi has stated that this vehicle is capable of going from 0-60 in under 5.7 second and the mpg rating is going to be approximately 15 percent more efficient than that of the previous model. There are driving modes made available for the driver to chose from, these are “Auto”, “Comfort”, “Dynamic”and the brand new “Individual”. These options alter the characteristics regarding the steering, suspension, engine and transmission of the vehicle and can be programmed to suit the needs of the driver. Safety Features of the Audi A8; The A8 is equipped with a multitude of airbags throughout the vehicle, it has front seat mounted side impact airbags and side curtain airbags as standard for a total of 8 airbags installed. Other standard safety features include a stability system and anti-lock brakes with traction control. Optional safety features are a warning systems that inform the driver about blind spots and lane departure. Adaptive cruise control is incorporated with a radar sensor and can detect if the vehicle is getting too close to another object or vehicle. And finally, another new feature for the Audi A8 is the inclusion of night vision, this can help detect animals and pedestrians in dim light.
