On Friday, I attended a media luncheon and drive day with General Motors at FedEx Field just outside of D.C.

General Motors found a new use for bits of their scrap vehicles. They used leftover sound absorbing material from production of Chevrolet Malibu and Buick Verano sedans to create self-heated, waterproof coats that transform into sleeping bags for the homeless! That is good thinking right there.

The GM torque converter clutch solenoid is basically a hydraulic control valve that is meant to manage the torque converter clutch.

The idea of a front center air bag has been put into practice by General Motor with amazing results. they are going to introduce the technology in their production models from 2013.

General Motors is going to address an issue that many of us suffer from everyday, but take it for granted: brake squeal! For car owners and automotive technicians alike, brake squeal is a source of frustration.

General Motors is working on a similar system to what Mercedes offers, a radar-based pedestrian detection technology. Only GM’s system uses cellphone signals and Wi-Fi to detect people. Everybody these days carry a cell phone, don’t they?

A window regulator is used in General Motors vehicles to raise and lower the glass pane inside a door. This window regulator is actually a mechanical lever that is activated by means of a hand crank inside the vehicle, which can be damaged due to some reasons and hence it should be replaced.
