Official: BMW 1 Series M Coupe

After months of anticipation here we can take a look at the all-new BMW 1 Series M Coupe without those stupid camouflages obscuring the view!

Even at the first glance, you can tell how great this car is. The proportions of the body, those flared arches, the muscular bumpers and those big wheels wrapped in fat tires, they all hint at an enormous driving pleasure.

And the aesthetics are backed up by a magnificent by a twin-charged 3.0 liter straight-six engine that develops 335 hp (250 kW) at 5,900 rpm and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. It revs up to 7000 rpm.

And the performance it delivers, considering the size and 1.5 ton weight of the car, is astonishing. 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds (0-100 kmh in 4.9 seconds). The standing quarter-mile mark comes up in 13.2 seconds. Top speed is limited electronically to 155 mph (250 kmh).

Being an M car, this coupe is also packed with highly sophisticated driving aids and safety features, and an M button for the M mode, which includes an overboost feature to give you a sudden burst of torque for a brief moment. What we liked very much, is the fact that it comes with a six-speed manual gearbox rather than an electronic sequential.
