NASCAR Releases Demo Vid of 2026 Coronado Island Race Track

Circuit looks like a narrow street course, winds past aircraft carriers, fighter jets

NASCAR has unveiled a CGI lap of its new street circuit around Naval Base Coronado, and it promises a mix of long straights and very tight corners, all bordered by concrete barriers.

Expect plenty of opportunities for a master like Shane van Gisbergen to shine.

The layout threads between base buildings before stretching out toward San Diego Bay, where the digital preview shows two massive aircraft carriers moored along the track. It then loops back onto the airfield, weaving among parked fighter jets.

At 3.4 miles in length, the course features 16 turns, many resembling classic street circuit hairpins, with near-right-angle corners that will demand heavy braking from the 3,400-pound Cup cars.

The NASCAR San Diego Weekend is set for June 19–21, 2026, with the top three series competing on the Coronado layout: the Truck Series on Friday, June 19; Xfinity on Saturday, June 20; and the Cup Series on Sunday, June 21.

With its tight turns and iconic naval scenery, the Coronado circuit promises a unique challenge and a visually striking backdrop for the 2026 NASCAR season, blending technical precision with breathtaking spectacle.
