Two Engines in 2010 BMW X1

BMW’s smallest SUV has been around for quite sometime now and people are still patiently waiting for its new sleek designs to sink into them. At the beginning of 2010, the company made an announcement on the two new variants of the car model; the 150hp four-cylinder sDrive18i and the 218hp six-cylinder xDrive25i.

The sDrive18i is fitted to a rear-wheel-drive basic version of the present model, and comes with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed auto model. This car is known to generate 150hp at 6,400rpm and 200nm of torque at 3,600rpm, all averaging at 8.2 litres per every 100km/h, while the automatic averages to 8.4 lifters. With this kind of engine, the BMW X1 can do 0-100km/h in just 10.4 seconds (9.7 manual), with a top speed of up to 200m/h.

The other model, xDrive25i, comes with a powerful cylinder that generates 218hp at 6,100rpm and 277nm of torque at 2,500rpm. It also comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox that is capable of doing 0-100km/h in just 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 223km/h. However, this model is more of a guzzler than its brother version, since it has a fuel consumption of up to 9.3 litres per every 100 kilometres.

The BMW X1 sDrive18i model goes for 27.200 euro, while the xDrive25i goes for 37.850 euro. Better still, the 2010 Land Rover would also a good deal to go for.
