A few weeks ago, I wrote a post asking you to help Toyota solve the plural Prius puzzle.  Voting ends tomorrow, February 17. That means there’s only ONE day left to vote for what Toyota should name its line of Prius vehicles. I’m opting for just calling them all “Prius” because it’s become synonymous with “hybrid” over the years. In my opinion, this would be their best opportunity for a strong brand.

With more than one million votes already cast, “Prii” and “Prius” are taking the lead with 25 percent and 24 percent of the vote respectively. “Priuses” is a close third with 20 percent of the vote. After the polls close, Toyota will spend a few days mulling over the most popular vote before making its official announcement at the Chicago Auto Show on February 20.

Leading up to the big announcement, Toyota has used humor to analyze the proper ending for the plural of Prius. Here are a few videos they have published in recent weeks. My favorite is the “octopus” is to “octopi” as “Prius” is to “Prii”!
