The Volkswagen Eos 2010 Model
The General Overview of the Vehicle;
The new Volkswagen Eos model is designed to fill in the small niche market within the car industry. This is a convertible model with a hardtop roof and 4 seats available. It’s been manufactured for sale in 2 different trim levels, the Lux and Komfort models.
What was new for 2010;
Both the Lux and Komfort models receive a new steering wheel design which has been wrapped around in leather; the multifunction controls are equipped as standard. It also boasts a Premium VIII radio with touch screen display, Bluetooth and an instrument cluster all as standard also.
The Exterior of the Eos;
Similar in overall design to the Jetta, the Eos now appears much more sleeker with its sporty and clean look approach. Volkswagen has stated that it only takes around 25 seconds for the power hardtop to complete its operation successfully. The Volkswagen Eos now comes complete with some of the following features; Wheels available in sizes ranging from 16-18 inches, daytime running lights, turn signals that have been incorporated into the power heated mirrors and heated washing fluid all comes as standard. Some optional extras include; headlights from xenon, also headlights that move according to the direction the vehicle is turning and windshield wipers that are automatic.
The Interior of the Eos;
The Volkswagen Eos interior comes equipped with all of the standard materials and design aspects that you would normally associate with the Volkswagen brand. Now boasting a new feature with gives the illusion that the vehicle is open air to all who occupy the vehicle whether in the front or the rear, this is due to the windshield being relatively low when compared to some other models.
This vehicle comes with a hardtop that is retractable, similar to other models. When the hardtop is lowered, this vehicle does lose a small percentage of space in the trunk. A redeemable feature, that isn’t common on any types of convertible is that it has a pass through to the cabin area. Here are some feature that are included within the interior of this vehicle; it has real leather and simulated leather upholstery, steering wheel wrapped in leather, heated seats, electronic locks and windows and Bluetooth all come as standard. Some of the optional extras for the interior are; a 600 watt audio system incorporated with 10 speakers, a navigational device. Now available as a standalone option is the multimedia interface.
Power Features of the Eos;
Utilizing the exact same turbocharged engine that has appeared in some older models of Volkswagen and Audi. This engine is a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine running at 200 horsepower and with 207 lbs-ft of torque, this is a front wheel drive vehicle whilst also being available in either an automatic transmission version or 6 speed manual transmission version.
Safety Features of the Eos;
This vehicle is equipped with side impact airbags which are deployed from the front seats of the vehicle, this is because it’s unable to be installed within the roof of the convertible. The safety features coming as standard are a rollover protection system, traction control and an anti-lock braking system, stability control, side impact airbags and an alarm system. Rear parking sensors are available as an optional extra for this vehicle.
