With winter already on the horizon, sometimes it’s nice to curl up with a good book by a warm fire instead of freezing your fingers off in the garage. Or maybe it’s time to get that perfect Christmas gift.

We’ve come a long way from stone wheels and wooden hoops we used on carts and wagons in the past. Now, you have hundreds of types of tires to choose from when you go to the shop to pick up a new set for your car.

Turning your garage into a usable room instead of a catch-all for junk that won’t fit into your house anymore feels like a great accomplishment — but no matter how much work you put into cleaning and organizing your garage, you still have that plain gray concrete floor.

Mechanics are unsung heroes. They operate behind the scenes of your car, making sure everything is in working order. Being a mechanic can be incredibly satisfying, especially when they turn the keys and the car purrs to life.

Most of us don’t think about how much time we spend in our cars on a daily basis — though we don’t hesitate to hop behind the wheel whenever we need to get to work, hang out with friends or pick up some groceries from the store. How much time do we really spend in our cars?

Naming cars has remained a phenomenon practically since they first populated the streets. People claim that naming their car is all part of the “relationship” you build with it over time.

I’m not sure people will agree with me, but I see this happen all the time:

It’s getting more and more expensive to fill up your tank — though it’s nothing like the summer of 2011 when the price of gas was more than $4 a gallon in some parts of the country. Even though it’s a bit cheaper now, we still had some of the highest gas prices during the past summer.

A car show is somewhere people with shared interests can come together. It’s a place to take in new and creative works, form connections and get ideas.
