Looking at the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo

With a brand new Aveo coming in for the calendar 2011 (dubbed as a 2012 model), it seems that the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo is in its final model year. Nevertheless, the 2011 Aveo remains generally unchanged.

Aveo is Chevrolet’s smallest car, which either comes as a 4-door sedan or as a 4-door hatchback, also known as the Aveo5. However, it seems that both body styles have a lot of things in common. They have a common set of trim levels, engines, available transmissions, as well as safety and other features.

The sedan and hatchback body styles both have three trim levels, namely the LS, 1LT, and 2LT.

Engines are also the same for both. They are powered by 108 hp 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engines. These engines work together with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 5-speed manual is a standard transmission for both body styles. On the other hand, the 4-speed transmission is optional.

The sedan and hatchback also have the same set of available safety features. These are the antilock brake system, also known as the ABS, and airbags for the front-side of the vehicle.

The antilock brake system is more commonly known as the ABS. It’s a safety feature that prevents wheels from getting locked up by the brakes. When the system detects that the brakes are keeping the wheels from revolving, it releases the brakes so that the driver regains control of these wheels.

As for the airbags, they remain reliable lifesavers for any vehicle in case of an unexpected collision. This model has airbags on the front-side of the vehicle.

Of course, the sedan and hatchback body styles are not completely identical. For instance, only the hatchback Aveo has the power locks feature as a standard. This feature allows you to lock all the doors of the vehicle simultaneously with the single press of a button.

Also, out of the three trim levels, only the 2LT trim level comes with cruise control, power windows, heated power mirrors, and satellite radio.

Cruise control makes driving more convenient because it allows you to adjust different aspects of driving conditions (such as acceleration and deceleration, transmission settings, the brake pedal, etc.) with the press of a button. This can come in handy, especially when having long road trips.

The power windows feature lets you close all the windows of the vehicle at the same time. Heated power mirror prevents your mirrors from getting fogged up by constantly subjecting the glass to a certain amount of heat to resist moisture and cold conditions.

And lastly, having satellite radio is always a must-have standard feature for anyone who prefers a good dose of entertainment while driving their car.
