Looking at the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

With the revision of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu lineup, the gas/electric Hybrid models are no longer up for retail sale. This particular midsize sedan is the smaller among the two.

There are, however, no significant changes to the trim levels for the LS, LT, and LTZ. The only exception is that the LS and LT trim levels can now handle E85 ethanol-blended fuel with its 169 horsepower, 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine.

In terms of the transmissions, the LT and LTZ versions run on a 6-speed automatic while the LS use a 4-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, the LT and LTZ versions can optionally have 252 horsepower 3.6 liter V6 to add to the 6-speed automatic.

While the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid is not in retail anymore, you can still order one via fleet deliveries.

The Malibus has ABS, antiskid system, traction control, and curtain-side and front-side airbags as available safety features.

ABS – its stands for antilock brake system, which is designed to keep the wheels of the vehicle from getting locked when you hit the brakes. The pressure applied on the locked wheels by the brakes will be released when the system detects it.

Traction control – traction refers to the ability of the car to maintain its grip while accelerating, turning, and braking, etc. With traction control, the Malibu is less likely to lose grip, effectively preventing most instances of skidding.

Antiskid system – this safety feature, on the other hand, keeps the vehicle from experiencing the full impacts of any skidding. When the car skids, the system applies individual brakes on them to help the car get back on course. This system works hand-in-hand with the ABS.

Of course, it’s always important to protect the passengers of the car in case of collision. That’s what air bags are for. Front side airbags protect the driver and the front seat passenger, while curtain side airbags protect all passengers from hitting the car’s windows.

Additional standard features include leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a wireless cell-phone link. Heated front seats add more to comfort for both front seated passengers. And with the wireless cell phone link, the driver can access and use his or her mobile phone to make or take calls, along with other features, while driving through voice commands.

According to ratings given by experts, the LS gets a total score of Malibu’s LS trim model gets a total score of 69, which is relatively higher compared to the average midsized car. Naturally, the vehicle scored highest in terms of its value within its class (9). Likewise, Malibu also got above average ratings for controls (8) as well as Quietness and Room Comfort for the driver’s seat (both get a 7).
