Hyundai Veloster Details
Hyundai finally revealed the highly anticipated Veloster at the NAIAS, and it turned out to be a coupe, a practical three-door coupe to be exact.
It looks a bit weird and maybe not just as elegant as other coupe around, but as mentioned it is hugely practical and has a very spacious interior. Hyundai Veloster features one door on the driver side and two conventional doors on the passenger side. That’s a nice trick!
Veloster comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels and offers two types of 18-inch wheels. The top-of-the-line 18-inch wheel comes with painted inserts, a segment first.
The Veloster is powered by the all-new Gamma 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 138 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and maximum torque of 123 lb.-ft. at 4,850 and mated to a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It’s not that powerful but it returns 40 mpg which is better than Honda CR-Z and that’s a hybrid!
The car also gets Blue Link connectivity system incorporating a multifunction seven-inch touch-screen display. At engine start-up, the screen comes to life with a Veloster image and a unique sound. There are three interface layouts the user can choose from. Pandora internet radio is integrated into Veloster.
