Chevy’s Cobalt hasn’t totally changed for 2010. The powerful engines and high performance function of the previous SS model had been removed from list. Cobalt consists of three option packages- Base, LS, and LT. All of the models have a horsepower of 155 with a 2.2 V4 engine. There are two choices available for transmission which consists of   five- speed manual and 4- speed automatic. The manual transmission model of the Cobalt is offered with the Extra Fuel Economy package with features that include a low rolling resistance tires to produce economical fuel consumption. The Cobalt is incorporated with safety measures such as the antilock brake system, stability control, traction control, and airbags in the side and curtain area. Other optional equipment includes a wireless mobile phone linkage and USB port. The LT model is also offered with heated front seats and leather upholstery.

Manual transmission of the Cobalt models with the Extra Fuel Economy package experiences irregularities in driving especially with overtaking but it is suitable enough to be handled. Cobalt is definitely affordable when it comes to fuel mileage as it runs and average mpg of 32.1 to 35.6. Regular type of gas is used to function.  Ride quality of the Cobalt is average. The vehicle is comfortable to ride in even with slight bumps encountered in the road. Handling is weak because of the low- rolling resistance tires during cornering at a moderate speed. Quietness quality of the Cobalt is poor because of the rough sound heard from the engine. Some of the car controls are not reachable and readable. The position of the climate control is positioned too low for the driver’s comfort when adjusting.

The interior condition of the Cobalt is suitable but not excellent. The plastic cabin accent creates a cheap look in the car. The cloth upholstery is satisfactory. The seats are positioned low for support but back seats provide spacious legroom for the passengers. The cargo area is roomy for storage of large equipment. There is even more space with the rear seats folded.

Chevy’s Cobalt is considered to be a budget car with satisfactory performance. Its fuel economy is really an advantage compared to other competitors.  Cobalt can be purchased for a reasonable price of $14,990 to $24,535.
