Chevrolet Aveo 2010
Slight changes have been made to Aveo’s 2010 models. It is affordable in price and economical in fuel consumption but engine and performance is poor. The 2010 Aveo is unfortunately behind from other car competitors like Kia Rio and Honda Fit.
Aveo is offered in two types of body styles- sedan and four-door hatchback. A capacity of five passengers can fit in both body types. It is offered with three option package that includes the base LS, 1LT, and 2LT. The first model, base LS, has features like steel wheels 14 inches in rim, cloth upholstery, OnStar system, and a sound system with four speakers. The second model, 1LT, has additional equipment such as an air conditioning unit and complete sound system with six speakers. It is also offered with add- on gears like a remote keyless entry, power operated windows and doors, cruise control, and satellite radio. The third model, 2LT, is equipped with the standard features of the 1LT plus wheels 15 inches in rim, fog lamp, cloth upholstery, heated power side view mirrors, heated steering wheel, and a trip computer which records significant data about the car’s speed, distance travelled, and fuel consumption. A sunroof, vinyl covered seats, leather covered steering wheel, and Bluetooth connectivity are available options for the 1LT and 2LT models.
Standard for all models has a horsepower of 108 with a 1.6 litre V4 engine. Its transmission is manual with a speed of five. 1LT and 2LT models are offered with a 4- speed automatic transmission. Aveo with the manual transmission runs for an average mpg of 27 in city drive and 35 in highway drive. A combination of the highway and city drive totals a mpg of 30. Aveo with the automatic transmission runs for an average mpg of 25 in city drive and a mpg of 34 in highway drive. A combination of both totals a mpg of 28.
Side- curtain airbags aren’t obtainable in all Aveo models. A lot of safety equipment is absent in Aveo models. Only the LT models with automatic transmission avails an optional antilock brake system. The built in airbags in the front seat is standard. The sedan type of Aveo gained a rating of five- star in the crash note for the driver in frontal impacts while a four- star rating is earned for the passengers. Side impacts had a four- star rating for the driver and three- star rating for the passengers.
Aveo looks small in structure but room for the head and legs is spacious. Aveo is quite impressive and is suitable to be used in smooth road conditions especially with the use of the automatic transmission. Aveo can be purchased for a starting price of $11,965.
