Cadillac XLR 2010

Cadillac’s 2010 XLR was withdrawn in the market because the company had faced financial breakdown from the decrease sales last 2008 to 2009. But the 2008 and 2009 model is still sold in the market by some car dealers.

The 2009 XLR has an attractive exterior design with a retractable hardtop. It has a capacity to fit in two passengers. The new features include a power dome hood, Bluetooth ready, and leather- wood interior design. The XLR was meant to be a sports luxury but the disappointing fact is that the athletic aspects of the car are diminished. The plastic accent in the interior design of the XLR is a degrading feature against its competitors in the market.

The XLR comes with one option package only- Platinum model. Characteristics of the vehicle include wheels 18 inches in rim, xenon HID headlights, heated leather seats and steering wheel, eight-way power seats, Bluetooth, navigation system, dual zone climate control, and a superior entertainment with Bose audio system. Additional car package includes the Weather Veil compromising of a car cover, wind blocker, and chrome finish wheels.

The XLR operates with a six- speed automatic transmission capable of manual shifting. It has a horsepower of 320 with a 4.6 litre V8 engine. Fast speed in the road is smooth and effortless during highway travel. The fuel mileage runs a mpg of 15 when driven in the city and 24 in the highway. A combination of the city and highway drive leads to a mpg of 18. The brakes are solid and satisfying.

Safety measures of the XLR involve the antilock brake system, stability control, side-head airbags, and sensors during rear parking. Interior is furnished with high class materials like soft leather, wood, and aluminium accents. The top feature of the XLR is its convertible hardtop matching BMW’s model with retractable hardtop.

XLR’s acceleration is impressive. One disadvantage is a slight body roll with the XLR’s flexible suspension during immediate and strong braking. The XLR is average in driving turns and the built in Magnetic Ride Control suspension isn’t as superior compared to sporty luxury cars of popular companies like the Mercedes Benz.
