1949 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta Up For Grabs
RM Auction has came up with a number of great cars throughout the years, but this one is just up there.
A super rare and super fine example of the 1949 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta, the 10th of just 25 examples featuring striking “Barchetta” coachwork from Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, will hit the block at RM’s Arizona Biltmore auction on January 20, 2011.
This awesome Ferrari which is the first model Enzo has come up with when he set up his own factory, is expected to fetch over $2 million.
The subject of a complete and total restoration, 0024 M is today finished in red and fitted with its original components, including chassis, numbers-matching engine, gearbox and differential. As an original entrant in the famed Mille Miglia it is eligible for nearly any event open to historic Ferraris.
