Everyone knows that lives can be saved by buckling up, but a question arises if one ever thought of protecting a pet in a car. A report of national safety statistics shows that the number of pets travelling in cars is every time high many of the pets travel unrestrained putting themselves in a risk in an event of any accident.

While most of us don’t always think about buckling up our pets in the car, an animal which is not restrained can become serious danger. Pets that are not properly restrained can also be a cause of distraction for the driver which can result in accidents. In an event of an accident, an unrestrained pet can become a flying projectile. At a speed of around 30 miles, a dog weighing 60 pounds can cause an impact of 2700 pounds.

Maria Hansen, the host of Vehicle Vibes Radio will talk to Christina Selter – owner of Bark Buckle UP in the upcoming episode. This organization is for promoting awareness and education for pet travel safety. It does not matter if you are in your car, motorbike or a boat, Selter will take this opportunity to share the importance of pet safety while on travelling and at the same time discussing steps to keep your pet and you safe while travelling.

Proper restraint will not only protect your pet in event of accident but they will also keep the pet away from becoming a cause of distraction preventing them from jumping out of the open window or door. While pet carrier are used for carrying small dogs and cats, special seat belt attachments can also be purchased which are specially designed pet car harnesses and seats meant for protecting your pet.

In case you have a pet, then tune in to the upcoming episode of Vibes radio for learning more about protecting your beloved pet and keeping it safe on the road.
