Renault is determined to lower its overall CO2 emissions level and is constantly working on zero emission vehicles for the future.

But they are not neglecting the present either! They just put their greenest production car ever on sale in the UK. It’s the Clio eco2 and it’s powered by a 1.5-litre dCi 86 diesel engine, which might not be a serious performer but it does 76.3 mpg and emits just 98g/km CO2.

This engines features highly advanced technologies such as taller gearing across all the transmission ratios, reduction of frictional losses in the engine and gearbox with the introduction of low-viscosity lubricants, and dedicated engine mapping focused on reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.

It also has a specially designed aerodynamic body with flexible lip under front bumper extended by 15mm, front wheel arch liner extension flaps and specific underbody enclosure for rear axle. It even comes with Michelin 185×60 R15 low energy consumption tyres.

Pricing for this car starts from £12,690 for the eco² 3-door dCi 86 and goes up to £13,855 for the eco² 5-door dCi 86 with air condition.
