As you may have read, Whitney got the chance to experience first-hand the importance of tire safety at Michelin’s Laurens Proving Grounds. We shared with you a look into a few of the scenarios with hopes that you will remember to consider your tires before leaving your driveway. In keeping with our ongoing Distraction Free Fridays campaign, however, we’re encouraging others to put down their devices in order to be alert drivers who can, in turn, prevent horrific accidents. Although National Distracted Driving Awareness Month has come and gone, we’re continually keeping safe driving at the top of our minds. Distraction.gov has more of the facts, including the below:
“The number of people killed in distraction-affected crashes decreased slightly from 3,360 in 2011 to 3,328 in 2012. An estimated 421,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver, this was a nine percent increase from the estimated 387,000 people injured in 2011.”

Hear our Plea, then Do Something!

We need your help to stop distracted driving! By participating in our distraction-free driving campaign, you are not only helping raise awareness but you are also potentially saving the lives of your friends, family and others. To encourage folks to move from agreement to action, we’re holding a special contest. One lucky participant will be awarded a set of Michelin Premier All-Season Tires, which Michelin kindly provided as part of a tire safety event in March. Image provided by Michelin USA
