Ford Transit Sapphire Special Edition

This year Ford Transit van turns 45.

I know it’s not that big of an event, specially as we are talking about a commercial van! but you should realize this is no ordinary van. The Transit got a special character.

As the best selling van in Britain, the Transit owes its popularity not only to its practicality, functionality and economy, but mostly to the fact that years ago 90 percent of bank robberies in UK were involved one of this vans as the getaway car! That makes it specially cool.

Now to celebrate the Transit’s 45th birthday, Ford UK released a special edition of the car called the Sapphire, which is the second anniversary model after the “Hallmark” of 2005.

The Sapphire features a 2.2L 115PS Euro 4 TDCi engine mated to a 6-speed transmission and with 300 Nm of torque and 20,000 mile service intervals. The car starts from £14,995 and for that you get standard kit including Air conditioning, Full width unglazed bulkhead, 6000 RDS Radio/CD, Power operated & heated mirrors, Power operated front windows, Quickclear heated front screen, Tinted glass, Unique Metallic paint (ink blue), Front fog lights, Full wheel covers, Front and rear mudflaps, Second remote keyfob, and ABS brakes with EBD.
