It’s not typical for a car to debut at the Consumer Electronics Show rather than a motorshow, to be honest it’s quite awkward! But when you realize that car is the new Ford Focus Electric, then it makes sense. Because it is more of an appliance than a real car and it’s more appealing to eggheads than petrolheads! The electric Focus is the company’s first battery-powered passenger car and will be launched into the market from summer 2011. The tech specs are yet to be confirmed but it’s said to have a range of around 100 miles. One cool feature of the car is apparently the illuminated plug door! At first only 19 U.S. cities will get this car including Atlanta; Austin and Houston, Texas; Boston; Chicago; Denver; Detroit; Los Angeles; New York; Orlando, Florida; San Francisco; San Diego; Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona; Portland, Oregon; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; Seattle and Washington, D.C.
