Double Award For 2010 Suzuki Swift
At the Annual Scottish Car of the Year Awards, the new Suzuki Swift which has been on the market for just two months, won two awards by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers.
The 2010 Swift named Scotland’s Best Small Car, and also got the ‘Safety’ Award.
New Swift was judged by the 20 members of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, scoring the most points in the ‘Small Car’ category and achieving the first award for Suzuki in the 12 year history of the SCOTY event.
Adding to this important award for Suzuki, new Swift also won the ‘Safety’ category for its equipment list of seven airbags, ESP and Five star NCAP crash test rating, all available across the range as standard.
John Murdoch, President of the ASMW said: “Turn back the clock 20 years or so and safety features like multiple airbags and ABS were reserved exclusively for top-end vehicles with a premium price tag. Today the motoring public expects them on even the most affordable products and manufacturers strive to achieve five-star Euro NCAP recognition.”
