Challenging the 2015 Dodge Challenger

I’ve never been one to fawn over “American muscle”, but I’ve always had a crush on the third-generation Dodge Challenger since its relaunch in 2008, after a 25-year hiatus. It has been my favorite retro muscle car ever since. As I took to the driver’s seat, I was eager to learn whether the 2015 Dodge Challenger would live up to the title I had given it in my head. Our favorite basics (standard equipment):
Base price: $29,995
Our loaner’s price w/optional features: 36,165
Fuel economy: 23 MPG (19 city, 30 highway)
There is a lot to love in the Challenger SXT Plus. I was pleased to learn that the muscle car lives up to its retro-inspired look – it isn’t just a pretty shell. I really liked that the Challenger was fun to drive, but not too overwhelming to be a daily driver. With a bottom line like this, it’s hard to ignore the Challenger in your “new cars to consider” list.
- Performance brakes
- Sport Suspension
- Keyless Enter ‘n Go
- Uconnect Access – Yes, WiFi!
- Blind spot and rear cross path detection
- Remote start system (bless!)
- Harman Kardon premium sound
