Cadillac DTS 2010
Cadillac’s DTS has little improvements in its 2010 release. This large luxurious sedan is classic in nature because of its limited modernized touch. The inside of the car is spacious for a capacity of six passengers to fit in. It has an automatic four-speed transmission and the quality of ride is smooth and silent.
DTS is available in three option packages- Luxury, Premium, and Platinum. The typical DTS has features like 17-inch tires, automatic dual zone climate control, leather upholstery, Bluetooth, and power operated front seats. The Luxury model contains tires which are 17 inches in rim, sunroof, assistance in front and rear parking, and automatic dim in the side mirror of the driver. Other additional features compromise a three- zone climate control, front seats that can be cooled or heated, heated rear seats and steering wheel, and a Bose surround system with eight speakers. The Premium model has characteristics like a body color grille, power operated front seats that can be adjusted and be used for massage, a heated leather steering wheel with wood accent, and a DVD navigation system. The navigation system is beneficial because it offers updated traffic updates in a certain area. The best and sophisticated model, Platinum, has a 4.6 liter eight cylinder engine with a Magnetic Ride Control suspension, blind spot warning system, and wheels of 18 inches in height. The interior design is even luxurious polished with leather upholstery and an Alcantara headliner.
The standard models run a mpg of 15 when driven in the city and 23 for highway drive. There’s a slight difference with the Premium model because it runs a mpg of 22 in the highway. One advantage of the DTS models is that it only acquires a regular type of fuel unlike other vehicle competitors in the market.
Prevailing protection measures of the models involves a stability control, antilock disc brakes, active head protection, and side-front airbags. According to the crash note, it only gained a four- star rating in frontal, side, and rear impacts and five- star rating for the protection of the driver.
There is plenty of space available for the head and legs of the passengers. The cargo space at the back of the vehicle is suitable for long equipment. One of the interior highlights is the large, comfortable seat at the back. The controls are handy except that passengers in the rear seat have limited control of the climate and entertainment function. Some disadvantages of the DTS involve difficulty to achieve parking and high quality materials in interior design is lacking.
The best DTS choice is the Platinum model because of its added power with the V8 engine and the engagement of the Magnetic Ride Control suspension. Cadillac’s 2010 DTS had prioritized space and coziness for the passengers than adding technological advancements and improvement in speed.
