2014 Porsche Cajun
The next Porsche model to be added to the current range of Carrera, Cayenne, Cayman, Boxster and Panamera, is a new baby SUV called the Cajun.
Of course the car is not due until at least 3 years from now, but the company’s officials have already confirmed it.
It’s too soon to talk about the car’s details, but based on what we’ve heard, the Cajun is a direct rival for the newly introduced Range Rover Evoque and will feature a similar cool and sporty design. It’ll also be powered by more efficient powertrains rather than big turbo ones.
According to Porsche: “The Supervisory Board instructed the Board of Management to drive forward the development of a further model series up to series production. Under the working name “Cajun”, this efficient and sporty model will further expand the world’s most successful Porsche segment in the SUV sector. In addition to the new Cayenne, which has clearly consolidated its market position as the most successful sporty SUV in the premium segment, the “Cajun” will also have a very positive impact with its typical Porsche features such as light weight, ease of handling and agility. As an attractive entry model in the Porsche world, the “Cajun” will attract new and even younger customers to the premium brand along with the Boxster, the market leader in the segment of two-seater, mid-size sports cars.”
