2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Details
There has been some rumors about Ford making a road-going version of the stock car racing Mustang Boss 302 they introduced in early 2010, but they never seemed that legitimate.
But they were! and here’s the car that revives the Boss brand for Mustangs and it will go on sale in 2012.
The new generation Mustang 302 features the traditional Boss qualities which makes the car so awesome, such as mean design, massively powerful engine and a super amazing exhaust note, but it’s also very clever and can rival European sportscars in terms of handling.
The car gets sophisticated suspension system with coil springs on all four corners, stiffer suspension bushings and a larger-diameter rear stabilizer bar, Brembo brakes, advanced electronics and a precise steering system. It also has lightweight 19-inch black alloy racing wheels with Pirelli PZero high performance tires.
The car is based on the Mustang GT of 2011 and has the same magnificent 5.0 liter V8, but for the Boss they have fiddled with the electronics and gave it better air and exhaust systems. The result is 440 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque, but the top speed is apparently limited to 155 mph. There will be a Laguna Seca track version of the car as well with better specs.
