2012 Chevrolet Aveo change its name to Chevrolet Sonic

General Motors (GM) finally change the name of its flagship hatchback Aveo. Aveo name change is considered important because it is considered not sell the Aveo name so it must be immediately replaced. Sonic and the name was chosen. The official site of General Motors (GM) revealed that America’s largest car manufacturer is planning to replace the Aveo name in model year 2012 under the name Sonic Chevrolet which will be out mid next year. But the Sonic name according to the official site of General Motors (GM) is intended only for markets in North America alone, while another 50 countries that sell this car by General Motors (GM) will continue to use the name of the Aveo. “The new car is roomy, stylish and fun to drive, and we think that the name of Sonic convey the spirit of youth and energy in these vehicles,” said vice president of Chevrolet Canada, Marc Comeau. GM’s marketing chief, Joel Ewanick also never said if it did ‘ve been thinking about replacing the name. General Motors (GM) had been fighting for replacement of the name Aveo since 2 years ago. According to former marketing chief Mark LaNeve originally wanted to change the name of the Aveo be Chevrolet Viva but then canceled because GM was troubled by affairs filing for bankruptcy protection.
