2011 VW Touareg MSRP

When VW introduced the new generation of its Touareg full size SUV while many people liked its new styling, it was a bit disappointing that they have omitted the V10 TDI engine from the options list.

But turns out the 2011 Touareg is all about fuel economy! No other SUV of this size can manage its average mileage, thanks to the new V6 and V8 diesel engines and the new hybrid variant.

The basic V6 TDI model which has 240 hp and does 38.2 mpg starts from 38,255 GBP. But the most reasonable choice is the V8 TDI which is very muscular at 340 PS and 590 lbs ft of torque, while averaging does 31 mpg. That runs for 56,530 GBP, which is a lot, but then it offers a lot.

The new hybrid variant which will go on sale with one month delay than the other models, features a V6 TSI engine mated to an electric motor, developing a combined power of 380 hp and 428 lbs ft of torque, which is astonishing and equally amazing is the fuel consumption which is 34 mpg. It’s a bit pricey though, starting form 54,995 GBP.
