2011 Renault Wind

One of the most important new cars by Renault is this little coupe-convertible called the wind.

It comes with an electrically-operated roof system, which opens in just 12 seconds. That’s a feature you usually see in bigger, more expensive cars. But you get it in this compact sporty coupe which is just 3.8 meters long!

The Wind has a funky design which kinda looks like a vacuum cleaner, but it will certainly appeal to the younger buyers. The interior of the car is also pretty sporty with luminium pedal covers, sports steering wheel and a range of satin-finish chrome details.

The car is also very serious about driving. The front suspension features a MacPherson-type arrangement incorporating an aluminium lower arm, and the rear suspension is based on a programmed-deflection flexible H beam. For extra comfort and filtering performance, it has vertically-mounted dampers and variable-rate coil springs.

It can be had with 16- or 17-inch Speedline wheels fitted with either Bridgestone (195/45 R16) or Continental (205/40 R17) tyres.

Renault Wind is available with two engine, the TCE 100 which develops 100hp (74kW) at 5,500rpm, while peak torque is 152Nm, and the 1.6 16V normally-aspirated powerplant, delivering 133hp (98kW) at 6,750rpm and maximum torque of 160Nm at 4,400rpm.
