2011 Citroen DS4
Citroen has always been a pioneer in design, from the old 2CV to Xantia and XM and now the DS series.
I’m not saying they’ve been great or very pretty designs, but all of them had a special groundbreaking character that made them very sweet!
Now here’s the all-new Citroen DS4, to be unveiled at Paris Motor Show and launch in 2011, and it’s quite like the DS3 but way more practical and functional. You still get crazy design features like those side lines and hidden rear door handles, but you do also get a 370 liter boot and lots of leg room.
And as for the interior trims, with its leather and chrome detailing it is definitely a premium cabin. In fact those rubbish flimsy interiors of French cars are a matter of past and they seem to have got the hang of it and can make proper trims! Aluminium pedals, embossed leather door handles and ambient lighting are further evidence of DS4’s attention to premium detail.
Citroen DS4 will get two HDi diesels – an HDi 110 (also available as an e-HDi version) and an HDi 160 – and three petrol units – VTi 120, THP 155 and the new THP 200. The diesel engines both have Citroën’s Diesel Particulate Filter System and the petrol models are developed jointly by BMW. All engines are available with manual or EGS six-speed gearboxes.
