The brand-new Alfa Romeo Giulietta is preparing to launch with a powerful 140 HP 2.0 JTDM engine and the new Alfa TCT gearbox, an automatic transmission with a state-of-the-art dry twin clutch.

So it’s not just a pretty face! The Alfa Guilietta is a very sophisticated car and it’s engineered for the highest qualities. The car was recently named by EuroNCAP as the safest compact car they’ve ever tested.

The new Giulietta is a five-door hatchback, with an evident Alfa Romeo appearance, capable of expressing great agility over the most demanding routes and also providing roominess and comfort on everyday roads.

This Alfa will get 5 turbo engines are available, all Euro 5 compliant and with standard Start&Stop system to reduce fuel consumption and emissions: two petrol versions (120 HP 1.4TB and 170 HP 1.4TB MultiAir, the latter voted “Best New Engine 2010″) and three diesel versions (105 HP 1.6 JTDM, 170 HP 2.0 JTDM and the new 140 HP 2.0 JTDN, all second-generation MultiJet engines). The range is complemented by the 235 HP 1750 TBi combined with the exclusive Quadrifoglio Verde trim level.

The new 140 HP 2.0 JTDM is equipped with the latest generation of the MultiJet Common Rail system that is already present on the105 HP 1.6 and the 170 HP 2.0 power units. This technology, combined with an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger, guarantees excellent torque delivery: 350 Nm at just 1750 rpm (with the D.N.A. selector in Dynamic position) and 320 Nm at 1500 rpm (in Normal).
