Celebrating the 20th anniversary of MX-5 roadster, Mazda has released yet another special edition for the UK.

It’s called the Miyako, which is the name of holiday island in Japan, and they say it refers to the joys of driving the MX-5 with the top down in summer!

This special model is limited to 500 units, and can be as soft-top or with folding metal roof. The soft top models get the 1.8 engine with 126 hp, while the heavier hard-top is powered by the more gutsy 2.0 liter engine developing 160 hp.

Special features of the Miyako includes front fog lamps, larger 17-inch alloy wheels, a front suspension strut brace , and free metallic paint. You also get Medici premium perforated black leather trim with a red underlay and stitching, special badging, floor mats and climate control air-conditioning.

Those are in addition to the car’s standard equipments including: emote central locking, a leather steering wheel with audio controls, an MP3 compatible audio system with six speakers and auxiliary (AUX) jack input, as well as heated electric mirrors and electric front windows, a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser. In addition, Limited Slip Differential (LSD), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control System (TCS) are included on the 2.0i.

Pricing for the MX-5 Miyako starts from £18,385 for the soft-top and £20,885 for the Coupe-Roadster.
